Georgian Patriarch visits prisons on Easter

The Georgian Times reports that Ilia II, Orthodox Patriarch of Georgia is concerned over prison conditions in the Georgian Republic:

There are a lot of prisoners at Georgian prisons but existed conditions are hard. Georgian Patriarch considers the existing situation to be unsatisfactory at prisons.
This announcement was made by Patriarch of whole Georgia after visiting the fifth and seventh jail and medical institution for accused persons.

Georgian Patriarch Ilia II visited prisoners to congratulate the Easter. Ilia II spoke about new initiative also. According to his announcement, it will be good if prisoners study icon painting.

Georgian Patriarch asked prisoners to write him letter during one month and describe how to improve the existed situation in the country.
