• April 7, 2007 - The UC Davis School of Law at Martin Luther King Jr. Hall will present "The Crime Within: A King Hall Prison Law Symposium." King Hall 3L and second-time prison law symposium co-organizer Kimberly Huangfu explains, "Considering the current state of crisis that the California Prison system is facing, conservatives and liberals alike are in agreement that something needs to be changed. Thus, we chose this year’s theme to reflect how our criminal justice system is failing to adequately serve the basic needs and rights of our nation’s prisoners." Taking place in Martin Luther King Jr. Hall Room 2021 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, this third annual prison law symposium is free and open to the public. • April 18-21, 2007 - Pittsburgh Theological Seminary’s Metro-Urban Institute will host a four-day conference "Restorative Justice: A Community Conversation About Uplift." This urban intensive weekend brings stakeholders from education, business, public health, social work, religion, and government together to discuss ways to undo injustice and repair the harm it causes communities.Confirmed presenters include Dr. Howard Zehr, co-director of the Center for Justice and Peace Building at Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Va.; The Rev. Robert Burkins, pastor of Elmwood Presbyterian Church, East Orange, N.J.; Dr. Claire A. Walker, executive director of the Pittsburgh Child Guidance Foundation, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Ramon C. Rustin, director of Allegheny County Bureau of Corrections; and the Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Peters, director of the Metro-Urban Institute and Henry L.
